Bixler’s at the Oscars 2026
Custom Pearl Brooches for “The Girl Who Cried Pearls”
For the second time in as many years, Bixler’s has had the honor of stepping onto one of the world’s most iconic stages—the Oscars red carpet. Following last year’s collaboration celebrating Dune: Part Two with production designer Patrice Vermette, this year marks another meaningful milestone as we partnered with the creative minds behind the Oscar-winning animated short The Girl Who Cried Pearls.
At the heart of this collaboration lies a unique synergy between two artistic worlds: the delicate, emotional storytelling of an animated film centered on a girl and her pearls, and the centuries-old heritage of one of America’s oldest jewelers. This meeting of disciplines came to life in our Montreal atelier, where craftsmanship, creativity, and sustainability converge. Each piece created is reflecting our commitment not only to artistry but also to responsible practices.
For this special occasion, three brooches were handcrafted in white gold and Akoya pearl by one of our talented female jewelers. These pieces were worn on the red carpet by the film’s directors, Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski, as well as its music director, Patrick Watson—an artist whose emotional score helped shape the film’s poetic resonance.
Unlike many brands that select pieces from existing collections, Bixler’s takes a different approach. Each creation is imagined and designed specifically for the moment it is meant to celebrate. This is the strength of being an independent house: the freedom to craft something deeply personal and meaningful, rather than simply decorative.
For The Girl Who Cried Pearls, we designed a custom brooch in white gold set with an Akoya pearl, centered around a distinctive “P” motif. This subtle yet symbolic design draws inspiration from the pearls in the film’s title—a quiet tribute to the story’s emotional depth and artistic beauty.

Moments like these remind us why independent craftsmanship matters. At Bixler’s, our North American ateliers—certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC)—are dedicated to creating pieces that carry meaning, celebrate creativity, and honor exceptional achievements.
When Bixler’s goes to the Oscars, our purpose is simple: to shine a light on artists through the language of craftsmanship. It was honored to stand alongside the creators of The Girl Who Cried Pearls, whose work continues to inspire audiences and artists alike.
Congratulations once again to the entire team behind this extraordinary film. Your Oscar is richly deserved, and it was a privilege for Bixler’s to be part of such a memorable moment.
